The theme, Organisational Effectiveness, brings together academics across disciplines and Faculties around a core in management in the Faculty of Business and Government.

Theme leader, Deborah Blackman, is Associate Dean Research for the Faculty of Business and Government, and Acting Director of the Institute, with a background in human resource management, human resource development, management of change and organisational behaviour. Her research interests are in the areas of organisational learning, the human factors of knowledge management and the relationships between management and philosophy. Deborah Blackman has published extensively in the areas of knowledge management and organisational learning.
