Research Student Seminar Series
The Institute together with the Faculty of Business and Government is delighted to launch the inaugural Research Students Weekly Seminar Series. The Institute Director, Professor Mark Evans, and the Faculty HDR coordinator and Dr Anni Dugdale will co-convene the sessions.
This series has been developed to help build our research community and provide research students with an opportunity to share ideas and present on their thesis topic in a friendly and informal environment: imparting the experience and learnings gained through their research journey. It is an invaluable opportunity for students to support and learn from one another, as well as develop and deepen networks with our colleagues. It is sometimes surprising how listening and discussing research in seemingly unrelated fields can help researchers resolve problems and challenges in their own research!
The speakers have been selected based on their progress with their candidature, including their experience with fieldwork and/or analysis; and we hope this will generate lively debate. In addition, we have a few special sessions facilitated by Professor Evans and Dr Dugdale, based on their own experience and understanding of the requirements of postgraduate research qualifications.
So please come along and participate in the sessions. They have been scheduled to try and increase participation by all part-time and full-time students (every Wednesday from 4pm - 5pm), so hopefully you can all attend. If you don't generally get a chance to come in for other activities this is the weekly event for you!
